Through guided training and non stop coaching KAA Gent’s Referee Academy aims to train youngsters to become ambitious and dedicated football referees.
The KAA Gent Referee Academy helps these youngers develop into referees at KAA Gent Elite youth games (U7 to U21). The talented young referees are offered a quick pathway to promising carreers as official referees.
Starting from the age of 14, youngsters can apply for the Referee Academy, following info sessions in Ghent’s schools or by sending an e-mail to email@example.com
Applicants will be invited to an interview with the referee ambassadors.
After being accepted, the youngsters will be part of a specific and relevant two day-training at KAA Gent’s training centre.
Having completed this training, the youngsters are ready to start leading games. They are accompanied, coached and supervised during every game by one of the referee coaches (ambassadors). The young referees will also receive a full referee kit.
Collaboration with the Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA)
KAA Gent’s Referee Academy works closely together with the national and regional division of the RBFA’s Referee Acadamy. The Referee academy is a unique project within Belgium’s Jupiler Pro League
